Media Literacy is the ability of a person to identify, understand and examine various forms of media (for example, radio, television, social media, newspapers, internet). This is a very important foundational skill, especially in today's age of information, advertising and publishing.
1.Identifying correct information
Media literacy enables a person to differentiate between lies and truth. This knowledge is important to distinguish between fake news, personal opinion and propaganda.
2.Critical Thinking
In developing media literacy, one is able to examine information from different forms of media and examine its veracity and intent.
3.Mental and Social Care
It is possible to maintain social and mental health without being victimized by propaganda, fear, controversial situations or side orders caused by propaganda purposes and fake news.
4.Social Responsibilities
Since the messages disseminated to the society through the media influence the society itself in a powerful way, maintaining a group of media literate people is very helpful in building a society in a perfect minded environment.
5.Social Media Use Responsibilities
Media literacy is essential for correct and responsible behavior when using various social media platforms or sharing information on them.
By increasing the understanding of media literacy, one can identify, accurately understand, think critically and act responsibly the pervasive truths and falsities of information and media messages, and is vital to the care and promotion of a healthy society.
